Upcoming rapper G Kon has taken sides in the beef between Prezzo and Jaguar. He did not mince his words when he went all out and branded Jaguar a plagiarist. The rapper who cut his teeth at Wapi events claimed the idea behind Jaguar’s hit song 'Tayari' featuring Ogopa DJ’s Avril was his.
“I was called by one of the Ogopa DJ’s reps and told to get away from the beef as it doesn’t concern me and to stop claiming that Tayari was my idea because it isn’t. Its like they want to cover up but it is the truth,”
the rapper said, “they even went ahead to claim Prezzo is using me to get to them just to discredit my claims.”
Meanwhile, 'Mtaani Dotcom' singer Avril has distanced herself from the plagiarism claim saying, “I only wrote the bridge, as for the rest ask Jaguar. I know nothing of it.”
G Kon’s claim to fame - apart from the fading beef between Jaguar and Prezzo - is winning a rap battle during last year’s MTV Africa Music Awards activation that took place at KICC.
