'Yori Yori' lyrics controversy

BracketA dispute has now emerged, over the authorship of the hit song 'Yori Yori'. Bistop, a former member of the band, Bracket, claimed that he wrote the lyrics of the song. He disclosed this information on an interview last month. Now, Ape Planet’s CEO, Nwachukwu Mamah has come out to discredit Bistop’s claims.

Originally, the group was made up of the trio, Smash, Vast and Bistop. They lasted four years after which Bistop was kicked out. According to Nwachukwu Mamah, Bistop is still bitter about being kicked out, and that could be why he’s hitting back. This info was revealed on an interview between Nwachukwu Mamah and Vanguard, a Nigerian daily.

However, Smash and Vast say Bistop left the group, out of a personal and voluntary decision. They say he decided to quit music and pursue his education.

Later, Bitop has come out with contrary accusations, claiming he was edged out of the group by their labels’s CEO, Nwachukwu Mamah, for being outspoken. He claims that, by the time he left, they were way ahead in the completion of the 'Yori Yori 'album project. When the CEO was asked to tell the truth about the authorship of the song in dispute, he had no comment. He added that he cannot sign Bistop even as a solo artist.
