There is a new department in the record label that has been associated with creating a new music movement for Gospel, in the country. Calif Records has created a new segment for the gospel acts signed to the label. Thomas Mahondo, the Head of Operations for the label, said, “With the popularity of gospel music, Calif had to oblige and create a department. So far we are working with a number of acts whom we will reveal at a later date.”

The label is also pushing two other acts to join the long list of hit makers

Upcoming rapper G Kon has taken sides in the beef between Prezzo and Jaguar. He did not mince his words when he went all out and branded Jaguar a plagiarist. The rapper who cut his teeth at Wapi events claimed the idea behind Jaguar’s hit song 'Tayari' featuring Ogopa DJ’s Avril was his.

“I was called by one of the Ogopa DJ’s reps and told to get away from the beef as it doesn’t concern me and to stop claiming that Tayari was my idea because it isn’t. Its like they want to cover up but it is the truth,”

 

International Women’s Day was celebrated in a joyous and exciting way. Many renowned artistes like Achieng Abura and Idi Achieng gave the day a great meaning by their very beautiful and heartfelt pieces of performances. All these happened at the French Cultural Center on Saturday night. The event doubled up as a fund raising for the girl-child.

The initiative by Sanibank Consortium and other partners was to raise money for girls’ sanitary pads in order to help as many of them as possible

Wyre the Love Child has joined the celebrity daddy club. On Friday, Wyre and his wife Hanifa, welcomed their first baby, a boy. The couple was really excited to welcome their first child, who weighed 3.8Kg. The newborn whose name the father would not reveal arrived at 3pm and was delivered at the Aga Khan Hospital.

Wyre and Hanifa were married just over a year ago at a private invite only ceremony at the Safari Park Hotel. The Boxing Day wedding saw Kenyan stars come out to witness the union of their colleague the Love Child.

A local film production company has embarked on a grueling journey to retrace the steps of the Mau Mau freedom fighters struggle and their collaborative interaction with the Indian dukawallahs or traders.

The more than Sh25 million feature film is the debut production of Wide Angle Visions, a local film production company and will feature Kenyan actors Tony Njuguna of the Redykulass fame and Mehul Savani alongside Bollywood film star of American descent Tom Alter.
